Unisciti al Folk Memory Project
All’inizio del 2020, il Corona Virus attacca i polmoni diffondendosi rapidamente e ampiamente, intaccando non solo i polmoni ma anche il cuore umano. Abbiamo chiamato i membri del Folk Memory Project a filmare la propria vita quotidiana, col nome di “Spend in 2020”.
Background del progetto Folk Memory
Nell’estate del 2010, Caochangdi Workstation, uno spazio artistico indipendente a Pechino, ha lanciato il Memory Project, incentrato sulla storia della “carestia di 3 anni” (periodo 1959 e 1961). Ci sono stati 21 partecipanti che sono tornati nei rispettivi villaggi per intervistare gli anziani. Per creare la “memoria popolare”, i partecipanti hanno creato film documentari e performance.
Il Memory Project è durato fino ad ora (2020), e ha visto più di 200 partecipanti che sono tornati nei propri villaggi per svolgere le interviste. Ci sono stati più di 1400 intervistati, provenienti da 22 province e 190 villaggi cinesi. Gli argomenti dell’intervista andavano dalla “carestia di 3 anni”, al “grande balzo in avanti”, dalla “riforma agraria” alla “rivoluzione culturale”, toccando periodi storici diversi. Per quanto riguarda la creazione di opere d’arte, sono stati girati 41 documentari (realizzati da 15 registi) e 6 spettacoli di teatro/danza.

Come together for the Folk Memory Project
In early of 2020, the Corona Virus attacks the lungs spread rapidly and widely, not only to the lungs but also to the human heart. We called the members of the Folk Memory Project keep to filming daily life respectively, which called “Spend in 2020”.
Background of the Folk Memory Project
In the summer of 2010, Caochangdi Workstation, an independent art space in Beijing, launched the Memory Project, which focus on the history of “3 years famine” (period of 1959 and 1961). There were 21 participants went back to their respective villages to interview elders. To base the “folk memory”, the participants created documentary films and performance as well.
The Memory Project has been running till now (in 2020), have had more 200 participants going back to their villages for interviews, with more 1400 interviewees coming from 22 provinces and 190 villages. Interview topics ranged from the “3 years famine”, the “Great Leap Forward,” the “Land Reform” and the “Cultural Revolution” across different historical periods. Concerning art work creation, have had 41 documentaries (made by 15 filmmakers) and 6 dance/theater performances.
